Lviv Train Station website

Relaunched in 1903, this was amongst the grandest railway stations in the entire Austro-Hungarian Empire. Designed by Polish architect Wladyslaw Sadlowski, it once boasted exquisite fin-de-siecle interiors. Sadly, these were given a makeover in the 1950s, but the main body of the building has endured. Trams stop right opposite the train station - you can take no 6 to the centre of town. As with all busy train stations, common sense is key. Waving around wallets or wads of cash amidst bustling crowds is warned against. But generally speaking this grand building offers a fantastic welcome to Lviv.
