Euro 2012 stadium beyond halfway mark
In mid-February, Lviv's mayor Andrij Sadovy called on the government to approve the final documentation project for the city's Euro 2012 stadium.
Mr Sadovy declared that final costs for the stadium would amount to Hr. 2.4 billion, urging the government to release the funds necessary to complete the project.
Lviv has been a considerable concern for UEFA, although the stadium is now beyond the halfway point.
However, President Yanukovych sought to reassure the football association, that all is in safe hands.
"We have spent a lot of public money and energy to get back on schedule and now we are making progress," he said.
Meanwhile, work is ongoing in the creation of a new terminal at Lviv airport.
Lviv is one of 4 Ukrainian cities set to host matches at next year's soccer showdown. Kiev, Donetsk and Kharkiv will share the honours, alongside 4 Polish cities: Warsaw, Gdansk, Poznan and Wroclaw.
