No Holocaust film at Lviv schools

 

Being pressured by a nationalist party, Ukrainian authorities did not allow schools to screen "Two Tangos", a movie about Holocaust. The officials felt offended by the film's motifs concerning Ukrainian collaboration with the Nazis.

The nationalist party called The Freedom Party has a vast support among people of Ukraine. The party's leader, Oleg Tyagnybok, who has infamously praised the Ukrainian Insurgent Army for "fighting against filth who wanted to take the Ukrainan state from its people", tried to convince the Lviv regional commission to ban the movie. Apparently, he has succeeded...
