The Royal Mansion

|
Take a step back in time at the showpiece of Lviv's Historical Museum, the aptly titled Royal Mansion. This was once a family residence of dashing Polish monarch Jan Sobieski, whose father purchased the edifice during the early seventeenth century. The famed Italianate courtyard is a pleasant place to mill around, whilst inside, all traces of the twentieth century evaporate. Portraits of gallant heroes line the walls, and you can well imagine some prince waltzing through the salons with his comely young ladyfriend. |
